Narrowleaf Firethorn 'Gnome', Slender Firethorn 'Gnome', Woolly Firethorn 'Gnome'
Noted for its winter hardiness, Pyracantha angustifolia 'Gnome' (Narrowleaf Firethorn) is a compact, thorny, evergreen shrub of dense habit with lance-shaped, glossy, dark green leaves. In late spring to early summer, tight clusters of attractive white flowers appear along the prior year's wood. They are followed by abundant brilliant orange berries in fall, which persist well into winter. Attractive ornamental garden hedge, it is also an excellent security barrier. It can also be grown against a wall or fence.
- Grows up to 4-6 ft. tall (120-180 cm) and 6-8 ft. wide (180-240 cm).
- Easily grown in average, dry to medium, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Drought and dry soil tolerant.
- Great as a specimen plant, shrub borders, foundation plantings, barrier hedges, wall-side borders, cottage gardens.
