With its rich purple blooms, Clematis Etoile Violette’ is a favorite among many gardeners, especially in combination with repeat-flowering climbing Roses. Here, this pretty Clematis partners magnificently with the crimson Rose ‘Tess of the d’Urbervilles’. Bred by David Austin, this English Rose enjoys a strong old rose fragrance, which will hang beautifully in the air! Enjoy!

Climbing roses and clematis are perfect companions. They happily share the same arch or trellis, both reaching for the sun. They have the same natural needs, require the same growing conditions, and benefit from the same fertilizers. They are often of similar sizes with the result that neither swamps the other. They also complement one another. While the fragrance is rare in Large Flowered clematis, it is fairly common in roses. When combined, they often look many times more beautiful than on a standalone basis.
