One of the finest of all rock garden plants, Ramonda myconi (Pyrenean Violet) is a low-growing, is an evergreen perennial forming a rosette of broadly ovate, hairy, dark green leaves. In mid to late spring, small clusters of charming, outward-facing, violet-blue flowers, 1 in. across (2.5 cm), are borne on leafless stems above the foliage. A diminutive, enchanting plant that is ideal for rock gardens or containers.
