Veronica spicata ‘Pink Damask’ (Spike Speedwell)

Veronica spicata ‘Pink Damask’ (Spike Speedwell) is a bushy, upright, clump-forming perennial producing dense, slender spikes of star-shaped, pastel pink flowers from mid to late summer. Attractive to butterflies, the flowers open from the base upward and create an eye-catching floral display in excess of 6-8 weeks. They sway above the bushy foliage mound of lance-shaped, deep green leaves. The compact habit of this speedwell makes it ideal for the front of the border, as an edging plant or for containers where it will create a charming impact.

• Grows in bushy, upright clumps, up to 2-3 ft. tall (60-90 cm) and 1-2 ft. wide (30-60 cm).
• Performs best in full sun, in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Tolerates light shade. Best performance occurs with consistent moisture combined with sharp soil drainage.
• Perfect choice for borders, city gardens, cottage gardens or containers. Exceptional fresh cut flower. Best when planted in groups.
• Easy to grow, Speedwell requires very low care and is fairly pest and disease-free (some susceptibility to mildew). It is attractive to butterflies, but resistant to rabbit and deer.
• Remove spent flowers to promote additional blooms.
