A Cheerful Border Idea with Monarda, Clematis and Artemisia

Perennial Combinations, Plant Combinations, Summer Borders, Fall Borders

A lovely plant combination for a lasting display from mid to late summer. Easy to grow, attractive to butterflies but ignored by deer, this combo includes fresh-looking mop-headed Bee Balms (Monarda) which are interplanted with the fragrant, frothy plumes of White Mugwort (Artemisia lactiflora) and the regal purple starry flowers of an eye-catching Clematis. Adding architectural height and beautifully complementing this planting is a majestic Meadow Rue (Thalictrum rochebrunianum).

Most plants are recipients of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society. Enjoy!
