Shasta Daisy (Leucanthemum x Superbum)

Shasta Daisy (Leucanthemum x superbum) is a highly popular herbaceous perennial valued for its prominent and spectacular floral display and its attractive, lush dark green foliage which provide weeks of color starting early or mid-summer. Extremely easy to grow, there is a Shasta Daisy for every garden and every taste thanks to the profusion of cultivars presenting different levels of compactness, floral size, flowering type (single or double), longevity, or repetitiveness of the bloom period.

  • Shasta Daisies grow in upright clumps of stiff stems reaching up to 2-4 feet in height (60-120 cm) and bearing beautiful white or creamy yellow flower heads with yellow centers. They make excellent and long-lasting fresh-cut flowers.
  • They thrive in full sun and enjoy fertile, moist, well-drained soils. Light shade is tolerated, specifically in hot summer areas.
  • They are an excellent choice for perennial borders, cutting gardens, or naturalizing meadows. Plant them in small groups for better visual impact.
  • Robust, low maintenance, and highly disease-free, they are also drought-tolerant and deer resistant.
  • Remove spent flowers to promote further blooms and maintain a neat appearance. In spring, remove all dead foliage and cut back to basal foliage in fall.
