Caladium Heart to Heart® ‘Hot Flash’ (Angel Wings)

Caladium Heart to Heart® ‘Hot Flash’ (Angel Wings) is a tropical, tuberous perennial with lush, heart-shaped, bright, shiny red leaves adorned with a dark green to bronze border. They are held on slender, upright stalks. Exotic-looking, this eye-catching foliage plant is terrific for adding color and drama to borders and containers. This tropical plant also makes an excellent houseplant. Thriving in heat and humidity, it is also sun- and shade-tolerant and, therefore, very versatile in the landscape.

• Grows up to 15-20 in. tall (37-50 cm) and 8-10 in. wide (20-25 cm).
• Performs best in sun, part shade or full shade, in humus-rich, moist, well-drained soils. Provide regular moisture and do not allow soils to dry out.
• Excellent in shaded beds and borders or containers.
• Generally disease and pest free, this plant requires little maintenance. Watch for slugs and snails.
• Tubers may be left in the ground in mild winter climates (USDA Zones 10-11). In colder areas, dig the tubers in the fall before the first frost and store them in a cool, dry place over winter.
• To be planted in spring. Caladiums require warm soil to emerge and thrive.
• Propagate by division of tubers.
• Harmful if eaten, skin and eye irritant. Wear gloves and other protective equipment when handling.
• Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
