Callistemon citrinus ‘Perth Pink’ (Crimson Bottlebrush) is a compact, small to medium, evergreen shrub with narrow, mid-green, leathery, aromatic leaves covered in silky hairs and emerging pink. Masses of bright pink bottlebrush-like flower spikes, 4 in. long (10 cm), are on display in spring and fall. The blooms are a copious source of nectar for birds and hummingbirds. They also make excellent cut flowers. This Crimson Bottlebrush is perfect for hedges, windbreaks, erosion control or simply as an accent plant in the garden.

  • Grows up to 5-8 ft. tall and wide (150-240 cm).
  • Easily grown in acidic, moist, well-drained soils in full sun to light shade. Drought tolerant but performs best with regular irrigation.
  • Great for foundations, wall-side borders, Mediterranean gardens or containers.
  • Virtually disease free and pest free. Watch for glasshouse red spider mite, mealybugs and scale insects when grown under glass. Deer resistant.
  • Prune immediately after flowering.
  • Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings.
