Hardy, Dianthus deltoides ‘Flashing Lights’ (Maiden Pink) is an evergreen perennial forming a mat of narrow, bright green leaves. In late spring and summer, the foliage mound is covered by a profusion of small, salmon-scarlet, single flowers adorned with delicately fringed petals. Borne on sturdy flowering stems, the dainty blossoms attract bees and butterflies, but are ignored by deer. Easy to grow, Maiden Pink is excellent for the front of the border, as edging plant or massed as a groundcover.
