Compact and eye-catching, Gaura lindheimeri ‘Rosy Jane’ (Beeblossom) is a bushy, clump-forming perennial with long, graceful stems studded with airy-looking, 4-petaled white flowers that are flushed pink along the edges. Blooming from late spring into early fall, they open from dark pink flower buds and flutter for months along the slender stems, resembling clouds of butterflies. The foliage consists of lance-shaped dark green leaves splashed with purple. Adding an interesting fine texture in the garden with its flowers dancing and dangling above the purple-tinged foliage, Gaura lindheimeri ‘Rosy Jane’ is excellent for mixed perennial borders, containers or cut flowers.

  • Grows up to 24 in. tall and wide (60 cm).
  • Performs best in full sun or light shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soils. Tolerates heat, humidity and drought once established.
  • Perfect for the sunny border for its accent color and delicate texture, Gaura can also be used in containers, rock gardens or naturalistic meadows. Stunning in small groups or large drifts. Good cut flowers.
  • Low care, this Gaura thrives on neglect and is virtually disease and pest free. Deer resistant.
  • Remove spent flowering stalks. Cut back plants in early spring
  • For home use, propagate by basal cuttings or softwood cuttings in spring or semi-ripe cuttings in summer.
