Ligularia 'The Rocket', Leopard Plant 'The Rocket', Ligularia przewalskii 'The Rocket', Senecio 'The Rocket', Perennials, Yellow Flowers

Bright and beautiful, award-winning Ligularia ‘The Rocket’ (Leopard Plant) is a striking, clump-forming perennial noted for its spectacular flower spikes and foliage. The strongly toothed, heart-shaped, mostly basal, light green leaves, up to 1 ft. long (30 cm), give the plant a mounded habit and provide great ornamental value. In mid to late summer, the plant sends up tall racemes densely packed with small, bright lemon-yellow, daisy-like flowers held on contrasting black stems. Superb for the back of the border, this Leopard Plant is useful to make a bold statement along streams and ponds, around pools or in bog gardens.

  • Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
  • Grows up to 3-5 ft. tall (90-150 cm) and 2-4 ft. wide (60-120 cm).
  • Performs best in full sun with some shade at mid-day or with dappled shade all day, in deep, fertile, reliably moist soils. Protect from strong, drying winds
  • Leopard Plant is generally disease free. Keep an eye out for slugs and snails.
  • Cut back after flowering
  • Propagate by division in spring or after flowering.
