Nymphaea candida (Dwarf White Water Lily) is a perennial aquatic plant boasting rounded, glossy, dark olive green leaves, 3-7 in. wide (9-19 cm). Floating on the surface of the water, they create a lovely backdrop for the small white flowers. Each cup-shaped blossom, up to 4-8 in. across (10-20 cm), features 12-24 petals surrounding a conspicuous bouquet of golden stamens. Blooming all summer, Dwarf White Water Lily is native to Eurasia and found in ponds, lakes, and slow flowing streams. This hardy water lily is ideally suited to growing in a small pond or tub in a sheltered, sunny site.

  • Grows up to 2-4 in. tall (5-10 cm) and 24-36 in. wide (60-90 cm).
  • Performs best in full sun in a rich soil in still water. Best grown in 4-12 in. (10-30 cm) of water. Apply a slow-release fertilizer on a monthly basis.
  • A beautiful addition to small ponds and water gardens.
  • Propagated by seed.
  • Nymphaea candida is native to Eurasia.
