Oxalis purpurea ‘Ken Aslet’ is a bulbous perennial boasting funnel-shaped, bright lemon-yellow flowers in fall and winter. They are borne atop velvety, pale green, trefoil leaves covered with silvery hairs. Easy to grow and not invasive, this plant remains green in spring, and is dormant in summer. It will spread slowly and can be grown in rock gardens, in front of a border or in containers.

  • Grows up to 6-8 in. tall (15-20 cm) and 12 in. wide (30 cm).
  • Easily grown in full sun in moderately fertile, well-drained, humus-rich soil.
  • Propagate from seed (indoors), sown with moderate heat in late winter or early spring.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
  • Native to South Africa.
