Fast-growing, Oxalis vulcanicola ‘Molten Lava’ is a tender perennial, usually grown as an annual, forming a lush mound of yellow, orange, and burgundy, clover-like leaves. Blooming continuously from mid-spring to late summer, the handsome foliage is topped by delicate, bright yellow flowers. Borne on pinkish stems, their throat displays small burgundy lines in perfect harmony with the burgundy of the foliage. Easy to grow, this Oxalis is a colorful addition with a long season of interest for hanging baskets, containers, window boxes, and the landscape.

  • Grows up to 6-10 in. tall (15-25 cm) and 10-12 in. wide (25-30 cm).
  • Easily grown in well-drained soils in sun to part shade. Oxalis vulcanicola is semi-succulent, so the plant is impressively drought-tolerant.
  • Self-cleaning, no deadheading necessary.
  • This Oxalis is perennial in hardiness zones 9-11 but treated as an annual in cooler areas.
