Tricyrtis ‘Blue Wonder’ (Toad Lily)

Tricyrtis ‘Blue Wonder’ (Toad Lily) is a compact, shade-loving perennial with upright, arching stems clad with ovate, dark green leaves and ravishing clusters of creamy-white flowers, 1 in. long (2.5 cm), adorned with blue and deep purple speckles and purple anthers. Borne in the upper leaf axils and stem tips, the blossoms can be admired from late summer to fall. Easy to grow and long-lived, this is an excellent perennial for adding late season color to the shade garden. Use it as an accent plant, container plant or ground cover in a woodland garden.

• Relatively trouble-free, this Toad Lily requires little maintenance and is heavy shade tolerant .
• Grows up to 18-24 in. tall and wide (45-60 cm). This is a stoloniferous plant that will colonize in the garden without being invasive.
• Part shade to full shade lover, this Toad Lily thrives in organically rich, evenly moist, slightly acidic, well drained soils. Don’t let the soil dry out! Mulch should be added to reduce water evaporation and maintain moisture.
