A Romantic Pond

This fabulously romantic pond is part of Andrew Grossman's garden located in Seekonk, Massachusetts. It is the continuation of his White & Blue Garden and flowers extensively from spring to frost in geographic areas where the average minimum winter temperatures are higher than -28°C or -20°F. It took about three months to build this section of the garden. Anchored at the corners of the lily pond, four Delaware Valley White azaleas flower, nicely contrasting with the awesome display of the light purple flowers of the Phlox Subulata thus creating a colorful carpeted effect for about two weeks in spring. The lilac elegantly complements the scenery with its fragrant lavender blossoms.

Following a blue and white pattern, here and there are some touches of gorgeous dark purple produced by the tulips 'Negrita', which are esteemed for their beautiful, traditional "tulip" flower shape.
