Award-winning Callistemon linearis (Narrow-Leaved Bottlebrush) is a bushy, small to medium-sized, evergreen shrub with linear leaves, 4 in. long (10 cm), that are aromatic when crushed. Bright red bottlebrush-like flower spikes, 5 in. long (12 cm) bloom from late spring to early fall, providing a lovely display. The blooms are a copious source of nectar for birds and hummingbirds. They also make excellent cut flowers. An eye-catching specimen for a sunny shrub border.

  • Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
  • Grows up to 4-10 ft. tall and wide (120-300 cm).
  • Easily grown in acidic, moist, well-drained soils in full sun to light shade.
  • Great for foundations, wall-side borders, Mediterranean gardens, city gardens or containers.
  • Virtually disease free and pest free. Watch for glasshouse red spider mite, mealybugs and scale insects when grown under glass
  • Lightly prune or trim after flowering to maintain shape.
  • Propagate by seed or from semi-hardwood cuttings.
  • Native to Australia.
