Echeveria peacockii (Peacock Echeveria)

Peacock Echeveria, Echeveria Desmentiana

Luminous, Echeveria peacockii (Peacock Echeveria) is an evergreen succulent with pretty rosettes, 6 in. wide (15 cm), packed with over 20 spoon-shaped, pointed, pale powdery blue-gray leaves adorned with red edges and tips when exposed to bright light. In summer, it sends up a 10 in. tall stem (25 cm) which bears lantern-shaped, coral to pinkish flowers. This Echeveria offsets readily and will form a dense carpet of rose-like rosettes over time. A great choice as a groundcover, for rock gardens, green roofs, or containers.

  • Grows up to 3-12 in. tall (7-30 cm) and 4-6 in. wide (10-15 cm).
  • Easily grown in sandy, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils in sun or partial shade. This succulent is drought tolerant but does best with occasional watering. Do not water when dormant. Fertilize sparingly to stop excessive growth
  • Perfect as a groundcover, for rock gardens, green roofs, or containers.
  • Deer resistant
  • Virtually disease free. Watch for mealybugs, vine weevil, and aphids
  • Propagate by seed sown as soon as ripe or by root, stem or leaf cuttings in spring
  • Native to Mexico
