Hakea victoria (Royal Hakea)
Royal Hakea
Admired for its striking foliage, Hakea victoria (Royal Hakea) is a small to medium sized evergreen shrub of tall, narrow habit. Reminiscent of a blazing summer sunset, its sharply serrated, leathery, dark green leaves display vibrant shades of yellow, orange and red. Neither the flowers nor the fruit are ornamentally significant. This handsome shrub is suited to growing in areas of low humidity. Tolerant of drought and coastal condition, Royal Hakea attracts birds into the garden and is also terrific for cut flower arrangements.
