Coral Bells 'Zipper', Alum Root 'Zipper', Coral Flower 'Zipper'
Prized for its color changing foliage, Heuchera ‘Zipper’ (Coral Bells) is a compact, clump-forming, evergreen perennial sporting brightly colored, heavily ruffled leaves. Emerging orange in spring, the foliage matures to golden amber in summer, changes back to orange in fall, before turning golden amber in winter. In late spring to early summer, masses of small, bell-shaped, white flowers bloom on short burgundy stems rising up to 12 in. (30 cm) above the foliage. Zipper is a Heuchera villosa hybrid. Native to the southeastern United States, Heuchera villosa is noted for its tolerance of high heat and humidity over the other species. This showy heuchera combines extremely well with a wide range of colors and helps create wonderful plant combinations in gardens or pots. A sturdy performer that is not only easy to grow, but also requires little maintenance. Wonderful as an accent, in containers or in mixed borders.
