Leucothoe fontanesiana 'Rainbow' (Dog Hobble) is a multi-stemmed, evergreen shrub prized for its gracefully arching red stems clad with glossy, lance-shaped leaves, 4 in. long (10 cm), marbled cream and pink. Highly ornamental, the lush foliage warms up to an outstanding burgundy in the fall. In spring, drooping clusters of white flowers appear below the branches. A desirable evergreen shrub adding bold texture and drama to mixed borders. Can be grown as a beautiful hedge.
