Narcissus ‘Scilly White’ (Tazetta Daffodil) is a delicately scented Paperwhite daffodil with large clusters of 10 pure white flowers per stem, each adorned with a small, greenish-yellow cup, turning creamy-white over time. It is not winter hardy but is perfect for producing flowers in a short time when grown indoors and adds beauty inside the house during an otherwise drab time of year. In hardiness zones 8-11, however, this charming daffodil can also be planted outside in the garden where it will bloom annually for many years.

  • Rising to 8-12 in. (20-30 cm), this daffodil makes beautiful cut flowers.
  • Widely available in the fall, Paperwhite daffodils are ready to bloom and unlike most bulbs that require a period of dark, cool temperatures, they will grow and bloom almost without waiting!
  • The longer the bulbs are stored, the faster they will turn into blossoms. They might take a month to bloom in planted in November but only 2 weeks if planted in January!
  • Paperwhites do not need any preparation, their only requirement in life is water! They grow easily in average, medium, well-drained soils (or gravel) in good daylight (no need for direct sunlight). Temperature around 60°F – 65°F is perfect for flower development.
  • Paperwhite bulbs cannot be saved for another season, so you can dispose of them once they are no longer attractive.
  • Pick and choose the attributes you like best from a range of different varieties. Buy paperwhites in fall and early winter – pot them up in batches to enjoy all season.
  • Ingestion may cause severe discomfort. Can also be a skin irritant.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
