A striking variegated sedum, Sedum erythrostictum ‘Frosty Morn’ (Stonecrop) is a compact, clump-forming perennial with fleshy, succulent-like, blue-green leaves broadly margined with creamy white. Sitting atop short stems, flat clusters of tiny white flowers, with prominent pink carpels, bloom in late summer. Easy to grow, trouble-free and drought tolerant, ‘Frosty Morn’ is perfect for use in borders, rock gardens or containers.

  • Grows up to 10-12 in. tall and wide (25-30 cm).
  • Performs best in full sun, in dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils. Prefers moist soils with good drainage. Poor soil is ideal. In a rich soil, the plant tends to splay outwards and not bloom so well.
  • Perfect for beds and borders, city gardens, coastal gardens, rock gardens, cottage gardens or containers.
  • No serious pest or disease issues. Keep an eye out for slugs, snails and aphids. Susceptible to powdery mildew on rich, damp soils. Deer and rabbit resistant.
  • Low maintenance, this Sedum forgives neglect!
  • Cut back to ground level in autumn as foliage fades.
  • Propagate by division, or leaf or stem cuttings in spring and early summer.
  • Sedum erythrostictum is native to China, Japan, Korea, and Russia.
