Prized for its fascinating combination of colors, Sedum takesimense ATLANTIS (Takeshima Stonecrop) is a ground-hugging evergreen perennial forming tidy little rosettes of thick and succulent, dark green leaves adorned with wide creamy-yellow margins. The foliage picks up pinkish tints in fall. Attractive to butterflies, showy sprays of bright yellow starry flowers appear atop short, thick stems in summer. A great choice for tucking into rock gardens or waterwise landscapes, or in decorative containers. Tough, cold-hardy and drought tolerant, it can go for long periods of time without water. It also makes a lovely groundcover for small areas.

  • Grows up to 4-6 in. tall (10-15 cm) and 10-12 in. wide (25-30 cm).
  • Performs best in full sun, in average to poor, neutral to slightly alkaline, well-drained soils. Drought tolerant once established.
  • Perfect for rock gardens, coastal gardens or containers.
  • Low maintenance, this Sedum forgives neglect!
  • No serious pest or disease issues. Keep an eye out for slugs and snails. Rabbit resistant.
  • Propagate by division or by softwood cuttings of non-flowering shoots in early summer.
  • Sedum takesimense species is native to Korea, where it grows in sunny spots between rocks by the sea.
