Olearia x scilloniensis (Daisy Bush)

Daisy Bush, New Zealand Daisy Bush

Olearia x scilloniensis, Daisy Bush, white flowers, evergreen shrub, fragrant flowers

Particularly suitable for coastal gardens, Olearia x scilloniensis (Daisy Bush) is a compact, rounded evergreen shrub with small, wavy-edged, gray-green leaves. In late spring or early summer, every shoot becomes so smothered with clusters of white, daisy-like flowers with yellow centers, that the leaf almost disappears. Fast-growing, this flowering shrub is wind-hardy, does not mind salt-laden air or atmospheric pollution, and requires very little attention.

  • Grows up to 4-6 ft. high and wide (120-180 cm).
  • Easily grown in fertile, well-drained soils in full sun. Thrives on shallow chalk and coastal situations. Drought tolerant and deer resistant.
  • Great for wall-side borders, shrub borders, informal flowering hedges, and coastal gardens.
  • Virtually disease and pest free
  • Propagate by semi-hardwood cuttings
