Forming a basal rosette of narrow, toothed, bright green leaves, Campanula persicifolia ‘Alba’ (Peach-Leaved Bellflower) sends up sturdy stems clad with narrow, pointed leaves that are reminiscent of those of the peach tree, hence its common name. In early to mid-summer, they bear large, nodding, bell-shaped, pure white flowers which add grace to the garden. Charming and eye-catching, they will persist longer if deadheaded. This Bellflower is an excellent choice for the border or mixed containers.

  • Grows up to 2-3 ft. tall (60-90 cm) and 12-18 in across (30-45 cm). This plant has a tendency to modestly spread by self-seeding and offsets in satisfactory growing conditions. However, it is never invasive.
  • Thrives in full sun or part shade in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Prefers part shade in warmer climates. Needs regular moisture!
  • Ideal for beds, borders, cottage gardens, and naturalized areas. Plant in groups for the best visual impact. Makes excellent fresh-cut flowers with the flowers lasting up to a week in a vase!
  • Easy to grow, and relatively disease and pest free, this low-care perennial is also deer and rabbit resistant.
  • Deadhead spent flowers to encourage new blooms and cut back to basal foliage after flowering to prevent self-seeding. Divide clumps every 3-4 years. Propagate by seed, cuttings, or division.
