Korean Bellflower 'Elizabeth', 'Elizabeth' Korean Bellflower
Campanula takesimana 'Elizabeth' (Korean Bellflower) is a rhizomatous perennial with upright, gracefully arching stems bearing long bell-shaped, raspberry-pink flowers adorned with white edges. Blooming from mid to late summer, the pendant flowers dangle above a lush foliage of heart-shaped, glossy, mid-green leaves. Fast spreading, this interesting Bellflower is perfect as a groundcover or in areas where it will not overtake valued plants. Semi-evergreen in mild winter areas.
- Grows up to 18-24 in. tall (45-60 cm) and 36-48 in. wide (90-120 cm). Can spread vigorously by both self-seeding and underground rhizomes in optimal growing conditions.
- Thrives in full sun or part shade, in average, medium, well-drained soils. Prefers part shade in warmer climates. Needs regular moisture!
- Ideal for beds, borders, underplantings around shrubs and trees, cottage gardens, rock gardens or naturalized areas.
- Easy to grow, virtually disease and pest free, this plant is low care and deer resistant.
- Cut back after flowering to prevent self-seeding and to encourage a second flush of blooms.
- Propagate by division in spring or autumn or take basal cuttings in winter
- Divide clumps in fall every 3-4 years.
