Native to the mountains of central Asia, Fritillaria verticillata is a charming bulbous perennial boasting a loose spike of up to 15 large, nodding, bell-shaped, white flowers, up to 1.5 in. (4 cm) long, checkered green or brown. Blooming in mid to late spring, their flowering stem is clothed in verticillate leaves which twist and curl to attach the plant to nearby vegetation. Tall and elegant, this Fritillaria species is most attractive with its bells and linear foliage and makes a fine addition to the rock garden.

  • Grows up to 3 ft. tall (90 cm).
  • Plant in fall in partial shade in moist but well-drained soil for best results.
  • Charming in groupings in containers or rock gardens.
  • Deer and rabbit resistant.
