Highly floriferous and robust, Leucanthemella serotina (Autumn Ox-Eye Daisy) is a tall, bushy perennial valued for its abundant floral display in the late season garden. It produces large, pure white, charming daisy flowers, 3 in. across (7 cm), with greenish-yellow centers atop rigid, leafy stems. Borne either singly or in sprays from late summer to the first hard frost, they withstand heavy rain and wind without too much difficulty and usually do not require staking. The foliage of toothed, lance-shaped, dark green leaves, is disease resistant. Easy to grow, this giant daisy is useful to create a cheerful impact at the back of the border. Part shade tolerant, it is also perfect for illuminating darker areas of the garden.

  • Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society for its outstanding qualities
  • Grows in upright clumps up to 3-5 ft. tall (90-150 cm) and 18-30 in. in spread (45-75 cm).
  • Thrives in full sun or part shade and enjoys average, moist, well-drained soils. Provide a sheltered location.
  • Excellent choice for perennial borders, cutting gardens, cottage gardens or prairie plantings. Plant in small groups for better visual impact. Makes excellent and long-lasting fresh cut flowers.
  • Low maintenance and highly disease and pest free.
  • Deadhead regularly then cut stems down to the ground in winter.
  • Propagate by division in early spring or propagate by basal cuttings in spring.
  • Native to Europe and Asia
