Regal Pelargonium 'Lord Bute'


Noted for its sumptuous flowers and handsome foliage, award-winning Pelargonium 'Lord Bute' (Regal Pelargonium) is a bushy, spreading, evergreen perennial with attractive rounded leaves. From late spring to frost, velvety flowers of the deepest burgundy, edged in cerise-pink, are nicely set off by the foliage. Perfect for borders and containers where its cheerful blossoms will add beauty and contrast. One of the richest and darkest of the large-flowered Regal Pelargoniums.

  • Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society
  • Grows up to 18 in. tall (45 cm) and 12 in. wide (30 cm).
  • Performs best in full sun or part shade, in fertile, well-drained soils. Water regularly during the growing season. Regal pelargoniums are less tolerant of poor weather than the other varieties. Protect from hot summer sun and rain. Drought tolerant, once established.
  • Perfect addition to beds and borders or containers.
  • Watch for gray molds, leafhoppers, vine weevils, caterpillars, thrips, fungus gnats, glasshouse whitefly, and aphids.
  • Deadhead regularly. Propagate by softwood cuttings in summer and overwinter plants in frost-free conditions or propagate by softwood cuttings in spring.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
