Award-winning Pinus pumila ‘Glauca’ (Dwarf Siberian Pine) is a broadly upright, irregular, evergreen conifer with attractive gray-blue needles borne in clusters of five, and densely arranged on the upswept branches. The erect seed cones are quite small, 2 in. long (5 cm), purplish-violet when young, turning reddish-brown. Slow-growing, 4-6 in. per year (10-15 cm), this Dwarf Siberian Pine is a very appealing accent plant or addition to the shrub or perennial border. Good conifer to use as specimen in a rock-garden.

  • Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
  • Grows up to 4 ft. tall (120 cm) and 3 ft. wide (90 cm) after 10 years. It will take 20-50 years to reach maturity.
  • Performs best in full sun in moist, well-drained soils.
  • Watch for aphids, adelgids, sawflies, pine shoot moth and pine needle cast. Deer resistant.
  • No pruning required.
  • Propagate by grafting.
