Fragrant and incredibly eye-catching, Tulip ‘Gold Dust’ is a truly unique tulip variety resembling roses or peonies with its bowl-shaped flowers densely packed with tangerine to reddish petals, flushed with brilliant gold and finely incised edges. Blooming in mid-late spring, this spectacular member of the Fringed Tulips group enjoys a long stem and will look ravishing in a vase!

  • Growing up to 16-18 inches tall (40-45 cm), this beauty will create dazzling harmonies with other late-season flowering bulbs.
  • Performs best in full sun in rich, fertile, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Prefers areas with cool winters and warm dry summers.
  • Easy to grow, this tulip is a welcomed addition to beds, borders, and containers. For best visual impact, plant in groups (at least 10 to 15 bulbs) or mixed with any other flowering bulbs. Excellent as cut flowers!
  • To be planted in fall.
  • All parts may cause severe discomfort following ingestion and may cause an allergic skin reaction. Wear gloves and other protective equipment when handling.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.

A symbol of spring, tulips are the most popular spring bulbs and most gardeners reserve them a spot in the garden or containers. Grown for their attractive, vibrantly colored flowers, there are currently over 3,000 registered varieties, which are divided into fifteen groups, mostly based on the flower type, size, and blooming period of the tulip.

More and more people are becoming interested in Fringed Tulips – so these tulips now have their group. It must be remembered, however, that because the tulips in this group are mutants from various other groups, their heights and flowering periods will vary somewhat among them. The one characteristic they have in common though is their finely incised petals. Flowering in mid or late spring, they rise to 14-30 in. (35-75 cm) and bring elegance to the garden.
