Zinnia ‘Benary’s Giant Orange’

Zinnia Elegans 'Benary's Giant Orange', Benary's Giant series, Tall Garden Zinnia

Zinnia 'Benary's Giant Orange', Zinnia Elegans 'Benary's Giant Orange', Benary's Giant series, Orange Zinnia, Orange Double Zinnia, Tall Zinnia

Zinnia ‘Benary’s Giant Orange’ features rounded, fully double flowers packed with glowing orange petals and opening up to 6 in. across (15 cm). As the flower matures, a circle of small golden stars surrounds its center disk. Resembling dahlias, they are borne on very long, sturdy stems above the foliage of lance-shaped leaves, and make a big statement in the landscape. Blooming profusely over a long season extending from early summer to frost, this showy annual is a vigorous and excellent performer in all climates.

Enjoying a long vase life, ‘Giant Orange’ belongs to the well-known Series ‘Benary’s Giant’, a mildew-resistant Zinnia variety developed for the cut flower industry. It is one of the best tall, long-stemmed Zinnia varieties and is recommended by the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers. It is exceptionally disease resistant and stands up well to heat, drought, and rain.

  • Forms a dense, compact mound up to 3-4 ft. tall (90-120 cm) and 2-3 ft. wide (60-90 cm).
  • Extremely easy to grow, Zinnias are annuals that love full sun and prefer a humusy, evenly moist, and well-draining soil.
  • A great choice for the back of sunny beds and borders or large containers. An excellent pick for the cutting garden!
  • Adored by butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds.
  • Don’t crowd them to keep them disease-free and avoid powdery mildew. Air circulation is important!
  • Among the easiest plants to grow from seed, you can start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before the last first date, should you wish for earlier spring blooms.
