Digitalis x valinii Foxlight™ Rose Ivory (Foxglove) is a compact, semi-evergreen perennial boasting showy spikes of outward-facing, funnel-shaped, rose-pink flowers with pale orange spotted throats. Blooming profusely from late spring until late summer, the blossoms rise from a basal rosette of broadly lance-shaped, toothed dark green leaves. They appear in the first rather than second year, and are attractive to hummingbirds, which hover near the tubular blossoms. Excellent for the middle to back of a border and in mixed containers.

  • Grows up to 22-24 in. tall (55-60 cm) and 18-20 in. wide (45-50 cm).
  • Performs best in full sun to part shade, in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Prefers a humus-rich soil in partial shade, but will grow in full sun. Deer, rabbit resistant.
  • Easy to grow, Foxglove is a welcomed addition to beds and borders, cottage gardens or containers. For best visual impact, plant Floxgloves in groups of 3 to 4 plants.
  • Propagate by division in spring.
  • Cut back the main flower spike as it fades to encourage the growth of flowering side shoots.
  • Keep an eye out for aphids, leaf and bud eelworm, leaf spots and powdery mildew.
  • Highly toxic by ingestion. Wear gloves and wash hands after handling.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses, toxic to humans.
