Incredibly popular amongst florists, Eucalyptus pulverulenta ‘Baby Blue’ (Florist Silver Dollar) is a small evergreen tree or sprawling shrub of open, spreading habit adorned with a ravishing foliage of blue-gray rounded leaves. Unlike many Eucalypti, it retains its juvenile rounded foliage into maturity. Highly scented, the leaves and stems are covered in a white waxy powder making them last a long time in a vase. In the fall and spring, abundant clusters of creamy-white flowers are borne amongst the foliage. Versatile, this Eucalyptus features a very interesting architecture and makes a lovely specimen tree for the smaller garden. Excellent for flower arrangements.
Eucalyptus belongs to the Myrtaceae family, which includes popular shrubs and trees such as Feijoa (Acca sellowiana), Myrtle (Myrtus communis), and bottlebrush (Callistemon spp.).
