Snow Gum, White Sallee, Cabbage Gum, Weeping Gum, Flooded Gum, Ghost Gum, Peppermint, Swamp Gum

Long-lived, Eucalyptus pauciflora (Snow Gum) is a small to medium-sized evergreen tree of spreading habit, boasting beautiful twisted branches adorned with creamy-white, pale gray and green smooth bark, peeling in cinnamon strips. The bark is red on young branches, creating a glorious display. The fresh scented foliage of adult leaves is glossy, gray-green, up to 8 in. long (20 cm). In spring and summer, abundant clusters of 9-15 white flowers are borne amongst the foliage, followed by large gum-nuts. This Eucalyptus makes a lovely specimen tree, street tree and is perfect in parks and medium to large gardens where its lovely bark can be admired.

  • Grows up to 12-50 ft. tall and wide (3-15 m).
  • Performs best in full sun in fertile, neutral to slightly acid soil that does not dry out. Protect from cold, drying winds. Tolerate a wide array of conditions from very cold to very hot weather. Drought tolerant.
  • Easy to grow, easy to care for.
  • Watch for eucalyptus sucker, silver leaf and oedema.
  • Propagate by seed in early spring.
