Fuchsia 'La Campanella'
Standard Fuchsia, Hanging Baskets and Pots
Free flowering, award-winning Fuchsia 'La Campanella' is a deciduous small shrub with an excellent trailing self branching growth habit. Small to medium, the attractive semi-double flowers feature a short white tube, pink-tinged white sepals and a purple corolla that matures to light violet with age. Blooming non-stop from early summer to fall, the flowers stand out against the foliage of small, mid-green leaves. Attractive to bees and hummingbirds, this half-hardy Fuchsia makes a superb choice for hanging baskets, containers or as a small standard.
- Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
- Grows up to 12-18 in. tall and wide (30-45 cm).
- A full sun to part shade lover, this plant is best grown in moist, fertile, well-drained soils. Provide a deep winter mulch and shelter from cold drying winds. Protect from the afternoon sun in hot climates.
- Perfect for beds and boarders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, containers.
- In early to mid-spring cut back the previous year's flowering stems to within one or two buds of the older woody framework. Also remove any thin, weak or dead growth.
- Stem cuttings are by far the easiest way of propagating fuchsias.
- Watch for rust, capsid bug and caterpillars.
