Fuchsia 'Nancy Lou'
Standard Fuchsia, Containers
Incredibly beautiful, Fuchsia 'Nancy Lou' is an excellent upright Fuchsia cultivar with medium to large double flowers adorned with gracefully reflexed, pink sepals with green tips, and a brilliant, full and fluffy, white corolla. Blooming non-stop from early summer to fall, the romantic flowers hang heavily from the branches and contrast well with the dark green, serrated leaves. Attractive to bees and hummingbirds, this vigorous flowering shrub makes a terrific half or full standard or a great container plant.
- Grows up to 36 in. tall and wide (90 cm).
- A full sun to part shade lover, this plant is best grown in moist, fertile, well-drained soils. Provide a deep winter mulch and shelter from cold drying winds. Protect from the afternoon sun in hot climates.
- Perfect for containers.
- In early to mid-spring cut back the previous year's flowering stems to within one or two buds of the older woody framework. Also remove any thin, weak or dead growth.
- Stem cuttings are by far the easiest way of propagating fuchsias.
- Watch for rust, capsid bug and caterpillars.
- Standard types: Mini Standard - 6 to 10 inches (15-25 cm); Quarter Standard - 10 to 18 inches (25-45 cm); Half Standard - 18 to 30 inches (45-75 cm) and Full Standard - 30 to 42 inches (75- 105 cm). These measurements are taken from the compost level to where the bottom branch leaves the stem.
