Bursting with sparkling color over a very long blooming season, drought and heat tolerant, extremely easy to grow, Gomphrena globosa 'Firework' (Globe Amaranth) is a fabulous annual plant that will create fireworks in your garden from early summer to frost. This prolific bloomer produces masses of long-lasting, intense hot pink pom-poms tipped with gold atop long, sturdy, branchy stems. Low maintenance and fairly pest and disease-free, Globe Amaranth is an attractive architectural element in the landscape and looks amazing at home as it makes excellent fresh cut flowers and everlasting dried arrangements!
- Vigorously growing up to 3-4 ft. tall and wide (90-120 cm), this fast and tough-as-nails performer is really not fussy about soils and thrives in average, well-drained soils in full sun. Although drought tolerant, once established, Gomphrenas grow best with evenly moist soils during their growing season. Do not overwater them though! Dry soil and clay soil tolerant, this little plant is perfect for dry, sunny borders!
- A welcomed addition to beds, borders, containers, rock gardens, cutting gardens. Great edging plant too! Since this is a tall Gomphrena, place it to the back of the border or anywhere you might like to create a dramatic vertical exclamation point in your garden.
- A magnet for hummingbirds, it also attracts butterflies and swallowtails and is deer resistant.
- No deadheading required!
