Narcissus obvallaris (Tenby Daffodil)

Tenby Daffodil, Spring Bulbs, Spring Flowers

Award-winning Narcissus obvallaris (Tenby Daffodil) is a charming, dwarf, bulbous perennial boasting upward-facing, bright golden-yellow flowers adorned with perfect, flared trumpets and slightly paler petals. Blooming in early to mid spring, one flower per sturdy stem, they rise atop glaucous, strap-shaped leaves. Perfect for naturalizing, this vigorous grower stands out anywhere thanks to its bright color. Ideal for planting into grass or meadows where it will cheerfully spread.

  • Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
  • Grows up to 8-10 in. (20-25 cm), Tenby Daffodil naturalizes well and comes back year after year.
  • Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun or part shade. Keep the soil moist during the growing season, but reduce watering after foliage begins to die back. Prefers acid soils which retain plenty of moisture in the spring growing season and a sunny spot.
  • This Daffodil is a welcomed addition to beds, borders, containers or naturalized areas. Provides spectacular drifts of color when planted en masse. For best visual impact, plant in groups (at least 6 bulbs).
  • Deer and rabbit resistant!
  • Propagate by removing offsets as the leaves fade in early summer
  • Ingestion may cause severe discomfort. Can also be a skin irritant.
