One of the most distinctive Polyanthus Primroses, Primula Gold-laced Group are semi-evergreen to evergreen perennials forming a rosette of oval, mid-green leaves sometimes tinged red. In mid to late spring, they produce eye-catching, flat flowers adorned with golden centers and intricately edged with shimmering gold. Hardy and easy to grow, these old favorites look great at the edge of flowerbeds or in containers. Wonderful when planted with early daffodils.

  • Grow up to 8 in. tall (20 cm) and 12 in. wide (30 cm).
  • Part shade lovers, they are best grown in humus-rich, moderately fertile, moist, well-drained soils.
  • Versatile primroses that can be used in beds and borders, in cottage gardens, city gardens, coastal gardens, or in containers. Perfect for underplanting shrubs and roses.
  • Deadhead after flowering. Watch out for pests such as aphids, leafhoppers, vine weevil, slugs, and glasshouse red spider mites. May be subject to gray molds.
  • Propagate by seed or division in autumn and early spring.
