Native to Virginia south to Florida and west to Texas, Star Rush occurs naturally in wet coastal areas, dunes, and along roadsides and ditches. This unique and long-lived perennial sedge slowly spreads by rhizomes. A plant for shallow water at the edge of the pond or for the bog garden. It can make an interesting groundcover in moist landscapes.
