Award-winning Thalictrum ‘Black Stockings’ (Meadow Rue) is a tall, herbaceous perennial with generous sprays of fluffy, bright lavender-purple flowers borne on tall, upright, jet-black stems. They rise above an equally attractive foliage clump of lacy, refined, green leaves, that is reminiscent of columbine, and remains good-looking throughout the season. Blooming from mid to late summer, this willowy plant is a good choice for attracting bees and butterflies. Low maintenance, it is perfect for the back of partially shaded borders.
