Trifolium repens ‘Purpurascens Quadrifolium’ (Black-Leaved Clover) is a creeping perennial bearing a profusion of rounded heads of creamy white flowers. Blooming in early summer, they are borne on long stalks above a lush foliage of three or four-leaved, bronze-chocolate leaves with bright green edges. Mat-forming, Black-Leaved Clover makes a colorful edging or groundcover plant. Attractive to bees and butterflies, it may be used as a lawn substitute and mowed at any time to the desired height.
