Award-winning Tulipa clusiana var. chrysantha (Golden Lady Tulip) is a pretty bulbous perennial boasting 2-5 narrow, glaucous leaves, 10 in. long (25 cm), and 1-3 yellow flowers, flushed reddish-brown outside. The completely opened flower forms a star, up to 4 in. across (10 cm), during the sunny hours. A lovely sight! Wet, windy weather during its flowering period in mid-spring, will have little effect on this gem. A member of the Botanical Tulips, this tulip is quite versatile in the garden.
