Tulip 'Pinocchio', Greigii Tulip 'Pinocchio', Greigii Tulips, Spring Bulbs, Spring Flowers

Tulip 'Pinocchio' offers fabulous ivory-white blooms marked with scarlet flames and a bronze heart. Combined with its heavily mottled leaves, this creates an unforgettable visual impact! The flowers, large in proportion to the plant's total height, up to 4 in. across (10 cm), open wide in the full sun. Quite a delight! Belonging to the Greigii Tulip Group, 'Pinocchio' will reliably bring sparkles to the garden in early - mid spring.

  • Growing only 10 inches tall (25 cm), this tulip naturalizes easily and will come back year after year to our delight! It creates dazzling harmonies with other early flowering bulbs.
  • Performs best in full sun in rich, fertile, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Prefers areas with cool winters and warm, dry summers.
  • Easy to grow, this tulip is a welcomed addition to beds, borders, containers, rock gardens or for naturalizing in grass. For best visual impact, plant in groups (at least 10 to 15 bulbs) or mixed with any other flowering bulbs.
  • To be planted in fall.
  • Eating may cause severe discomfort and may cause a skin allergy.

A symbol of spring, tulips are the most popular spring bulbs and most gardeners reserve them a spot in the garden or in containers. Grown for their attractive, vibrantly colored flowers, there are currently over 3,000 registered varieties, which are divided into fifteen groups, mostly based on the flower type, size and blooming period of the tulip.

Greigii Tulips produce single bowl-shaped flowers in early to mid spring. The principal colors are red, yellow and white. Combined with their stunning spotted and striped leaves, these flower colors create an unforgettable visual impact. These qualities make Greigii tulips unsurpassed for use in borders, rock gardens, and in pots. Very reliable perennials, these tulips are low growing (8 - 12 inches, 20 - 30 cm).
