Highly popular since its introduction in 1953, award-winning Tulip ‘Red Riding Hood’ is a delightful sight with bright scarlet blooms revealing a small black heart inside, and beautifully, purple-mottled leaves. The flowers, large in proportion to the plant’s total height, up to 4 in. wide (10 cm), open wide in the full sun. Belonging to the Greigii Tulip Group, ‘Red Riding Hood’ will reliably bring sparkles to the garden in the early – mid spring garden and will continue to provide interest after blooming thanks to its attractive foliage!

Grown for their attractive, vibrantly colored flowers, there are currently over 3,000 registered varieties, which are divided into fifteen groups, mostly based on the flower type, size, and blooming period of the tulip.
Greigii Tulips produce single bowl-shaped flowers in early to mid-spring. The principal colors are red, yellow, and white.
