My Monet® 'Sunset' Weigela, Weigela florida 'Sunset' PP23212
Grown primarily for its brilliant foliage, Weigela florida My Monet® 'Sunset' is a dwarf, compact, deciduous shrub of rounded habit, noted for its tricolored variegation. Emerging in spring, narrowly ovate, gently rippled leaves line the gracefully arching branches. Adorned with sage green in their center, bright pink and creamy-yellow edges, they warm up to attractive shades of gold and reds in the fall. In spring to early summer, soft rosy-pink flowers will occasionally be produced. A petite and highly ornamental shrub that is easy to grow and adds multi-season color. Great for small gardens or containers.
- Grows up to 12-18 in. tall and wide (30-45 cm).
- A full sun lover, this plant is best grown in moist, well-drained soils.
- Plant as a specimen or in small groups. Perfect for border fronts, edging, foundation plantings or containers.
- Pruning is best done immediately after flowering; little pruning is needed.
- Generally disease free. Watch for leaf and bud eelworms. Seldom severely damaged by deer.
