English Daisy 'Pomponette', Pomponette Series

Bellis perennis 'Pomponette', English Daisy 'Pomponette', Pomponette Series, Shade plants, shade perennial, Pink flowers

Bellis perennis ‘Pomponette’ (English Daisy) is a perennial grown as a biennial, with a rosette of spoon-shaped, dark green leaves, and masses of cute pompon-like, fully double flowers in shades of red, pink, or white. Blooming in spring and summer, they prefer cool weather and often decline when hot weather arrives. Bellis perennis self-seeds, maintaining its presence in the garden. Popular as a bedding or container plant, it is often used to underplant tulips and other spring bulbs.

  • Grows up to 4-6 in. tall (10-15 cm) and 6-8 in. wide (15-20 cm).
  • A full sun to part shade lover, it is best grown in organically rich, fertile, moist, well-drained soils. Part shade is preferred in areas with hot summers. Intolerant of drought.
  • This plant is versatile and can be used in beds and borders, cottage gardens, city gardens, containers, or garden edging.
  • Generally pest free. Keep an eye out for rust. Deer resistant.
  • Removing faded flowers regularly will keep plants blooming well into the summer.
  • Propagate by seed or by division after flowering.
