Ginkgo biloba ‘Tubifolia’ (Maidenhair Tree) is a deciduous conifer of broadly spreading habit, adorned with a canopy of unusual, fan-shaped, curled leaves, some tightly enough to resemble slender tubes. The foliage turns brilliant golden yellow in the fall. A moderate grower, 6-12 in. per year (15-30 cm), this graceful Maidenhair Tree is attractive in all seasons – Even in winter, when its stark silhouette bristles with spiky buds, given the tree an exotic charm. This male cultivar does not produce the distinctive fruit and is perfect as an accent for locations requiring a smaller tree. One of the most pollution-tolerant trees.

  • Grows up to 20-25 ft. tall (600-750 cm) and 12-18 ft. wide (360-540 cm).
  • A full sun lover, this plant is easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions, including both alkaline and acidic soils.
  • Salt, heat or air pollution tolerance.
  • Perfect as a specimen tree.
  • Generally pest and disease free
  • Propagate by seed or semi-hardwood cuttings. This tree transplants easily and establishes without difficulty.
  • Native to China
